International Women's Day 2024

International Women's Day commemorates the historical struggle for gender rights and equality, highlighting the invaluable contribution of women in all areas of society. We at IQOS, want to honor every woman's essence and unwavering spirit, a force that drives significant changes and profound transformations.

When and why is International Women's Day celebrated?

International Women's Day is celebrated every year on March 8th. This date commemorates the historical struggle of women for gender equality, labor, and social rights, as well as their contribution to the development of society in all areas.
This date represents a reminder of the challenges faced by women worldwide, as well as an opportunity to reflect on the importance of gender equality and promote concrete actions to achieve it.
It is also a time to highlight women's achievements throughout history and recognize their fundamental role in building a more just and equitable world for all.

What is the origin of International Women's Day?

The origin of International Women's Day dates back to the labor and social movement of the 19th century when women began to raise their voices to demand better working conditions, wages, and civil rights.
This day was made official in 1910, during the Second International Conference of Socialist Women, where March 8th was proclaimed as the day to commemorate the struggles and achievements of women in the search for gender equality and social justice.

How did we celebrate International Women's Day at IQOS?

At IQOS, we joined this vindication with a unique dynamic that reflects our commitment to female empowerment and the recognition of their valuable participation in building a better future.
On the occasion of this important date, IQOS organized very special photoshoots on March 2nd and 3rd. In these events, different women participated in an exclusive photoshoot, where their looks were captured by talented photographers with the power to write a new future.
Photographers Beatriz Gaspar and Andrea Font, in our Madrid and Barcelona Boutiques respectively, were in charge of capturing the essence and strength of each participating woman.
These photoshoots were an opportunity to highlight the importance of diversity and female empowerment in today's society. Each portrait is more than just an image, it is a visual testament to the power and resilience of women in the quest for a more just and equitable world.
On this day and every day, we vindicate the courage, strength, and talent of women. We recognize their contributions in all areas of society and reaffirm our commitment to continue working together toward a more equal and smoke-free future.
Together we are the picture of change, and on International Women's Day, we want to pay tribute to all the women who make this transformation possible.
