Refillable vapes have various components, such as the battery, atomizer, capsule and charger. Each of these serves a specific function in the vaping process.

Properly managing the waste from rechargeable vapes is essential to avoid negative impacts on the environment. Below, we explain how and where to dispose of each component of refillable vapes:

The battery, which supplies power to the device, is typically lithium-ion and has a lifespan of one to two years. When depleted, it should be taken to a recycling center.

The atomizer, responsible for heating the liquid to produce vapor, should be disposed of in the yellow container once it has reached the end of its useful life.

Disposable and refillable capsules, once empty, should be deposited in the yellow container.

The vape liquid should be fully consumed before recycling its container. The containers are usually made of plastic and glass and should be recycled in their corresponding container, either yellow (plastic) or green (glass).
